Susan Hughes died on July 26, 2023, at the age of 78 in a Temple nursing home. She was born in Hollywood, California January 12, 1945, the daughter of Wilson and Jean Clemens. She was raised in Hollywood, California and Tucson Arizona.
She later received a B.A. from the University of Texas-El Paso. and a M. A. from the University of Texas-Dallas. In her professional career she worked for Human Resource Research Corporation, Texas Tech, Morgan Buildings, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, and finally Baylor Scott and White. She primarily worked providing medical education for physicians and other health professionals as a meeting planner. In retirement she was a volunteer at the V.A. and served for a number of years as a volunteer certified grief counselor for Baylor Scott and White Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her parents Wison and Jean and her oldest son, Eric. She is survived by her husband, Ray, Eric's wife Nancy, sons Kirk and wife Mary, and Jerry. Her grandsons Brian and Chad Larson survive. Her brother Patric Durazzo survives. Finally, her much loved cats Sammy and Tommy survive.
In lieu of flowers please give donations to the Best Friends Animal Society of Kanab Utah. A celebration life will be held at Pignetti's restaurant in Temple, Tx. at 1:30 P.M. on October 21,2023.
