Shirley Ann Schneider

Shirley Ann Schneider, age 53, of Temple, Texas passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at a local hospital. She was born on June 4, 1971 in Temple the daughter of Emil Jacob and Frances Dorothy (Pekar) Polasek.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple, Texas with the Rosary taking place at 5:00pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, September 2, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple followed by burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Cyclone, Texas.

Shirley was a 1989 graduate of Temple High School, was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Temple, and worked for Advent Health as a Medical Coder for twenty plus years.

She is survived by her husband Gerald Schneider of Temple, her mother Frances Polasek of Belton, sisters, Jo Ann Klepac of Temple and Dorothy Anne Fuentes and husband Felix of Academy, nephews, Kirk Dwayne Klepac and wife Laura, Daryl Polasek and wife Cari, Gale Kelley, Jr. and wife Lindsey, Felix Fuentes, Jr. and James Fuentes and wife Misti, nieces, Kimberly Jo Klepac, Brenda Koelster and husband Daren, and Crystal Griffith and husband Michael Griffith, and great nieces and nephews, Colton Klepac, Carson Klepac, Otto Koelster, Ulrich Koelster, Steven Fuller, Jacob Polasek, Austin Polasek, Mary Ann Polasek, Skylar Polasek, Hunter Kelley, Melody Willard, Jonah Jacobsen, Lillian Jacobsen, James Fuentes, Jr., Joshua Fuentes, Joseph Fuentes, Julian Fuentes, and Hailey Fuentes. Shirley is also survived by her mother-in-law and father-in-law Virgil and Irlene Schneider of Temple, a sister-in-law Karen Ann Wolfe of North Richland Hills, a brother-in-law William Schneider of Temple, and her beloved dogs, Sophie and Toby.

She was preceded in death by her father Emil J. Polasek, brother-in-law David Klepac and a great nephew Austin Klepac.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mary Catholic Church or to a local animal shelter would be appreciated.

Shirley’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.
