Lillian Brown

Lillian Brown, age 90 of The Grove, died Saturday, July 8, 2017 at a local care center. Funeral services will be held at 10am Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in The Grove with Rev. John Heckmann officiating. Burial will follow at Moffat Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8:00pm Monday, July 10, 2017 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown was born on July 19, 1926 in The Grove to the late Hugo Tolkmitt and Martha Schneider Tolkmitt. She attended schools in The Grove. On September 23, 1943 she married Larry James Brown. Mr. Brown preceded her in death on October 14, 1974. Lillian worked at Superior Chaircraft in Belton for 12 years and retired from there. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in The Grove and she loved to read. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers and three sisters. Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Winkler and husband Elmo of The Grove, Belinda Adams and husband Robert of Little River-Academy, and Millie Spoonts and husband Philip of Temple; two sons, Larry H. Brown and wife JoLynn of McGregor and Paul Brown and wife Donna of The Grove; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
