Leslie Baldwin, 89, was born on December 21, 1924 in White Mound, TX and went to be with his Lord on February 10, 2014 in Temple, TX. Leslie was the son of Ed and Jessie Lackey Baldwin. He attended school in Tom Bean, TX and Austin College in Sherman, TX. He married Joyce Ward Baldwin on April 26, 1950 in Gainesville, TX. They were married 56 years when she died on September 24, 2006. Les served his country in World War II and was retired from the US Army - Management Information System Office in 1982. Les was a man of faith and attended Temple First Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by daughter Karen Chlapek and husband Eddie Wayne of Temple, sons Larry Baldwin and wife Mary Lee of Benbrook, and Michael Baldwin and wife Karen of Allen; and grandchildren Brian Chlapek and wife Heather, Ann-Marie Baker and husband Aaron Baker, Leslie and Keith Baldwin and Andrew and Sarah Baldwin, great grand children Dondi and Walter Baker and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joyce; parents; brothers Edwin Baldwin, John Baldwin, Alfred Baldwin, William Baldwin, and Jack Baldwin and three sisters; Mary Jameson, Louise O'Quinn and Jane Taylor. Les was also known as "Papa" and took great pleasure in entertaining his grandkids and supporting their numerous interests. He will be remembered for his giving heart, smiling face, and sense of humor. Visitation will be held in the fellowship hall of First Church of the Nazarene Temple on Friday, February 14th. A memorial service will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene Temple on Saturday, February 15th at 2 PM with Rev. Dan Mappus officiating.
