Judy Maxine Harvey, 72, of Temple passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 in Temple. Services for Judy will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Canyon Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Ronnie Hood officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.
Judy was born on December 9, 1942 in Temple to Lloyd and Mildred Bean Morries. She graduated from Temple High School. After school she attended the University of Mary Hardin Baylor where received her Bachelor’s Degree. Mrs. Harvey married Howard Harvey on August 27, 1967 in Temple. She traveled with Mr. Harvey to numerous countries during his time in the military, finally setteling back into Temple in the mid 90’s. Mr. Harvey preceded her in death in 1998. Judy worked as a banker at Temple National Bank among others during her career. She also enjoyed playing the organ at numerous churches in the area including First Baptist Church in Belton. She was a member of Canyon Creek Baptist Church in Temple.
Judy was preceded in death by her Scottish terrier MacBean, her protector dog Robey, and many cherished cats she “mothered” throughout the years.
Mrs. Harvey is survived by her sister, Doris Norwood, brothers Curtis and Skippy Morries, and sister Joy Travis, her Scotties Deuce and Maggie,as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Baylor Scott and White Health Care and Cornerstone Gardens for their care and support, as well as the concern, love, and prayers of many friends.
