Joyce "Sissy" Owens

She was born on May 3, 1958 to Jasper and Frances Owens at Scott & White in Temple, TX. She was a lifelong resident of Troy, TX. Joyce graduated from Troy High School in 1977. She worked as a line leader at Texas Instruments in Temple until its closing. Joyce was a line leader and machine operator at Flextronics in Austin, TX until her passing.

Joyce was a faithful member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Moody, TX. She was also a member of the APA Pool League in Temple. Her favorite past times was camping, fishing, softball, bowling, puzzles, and teddy bears.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jasper Lee and Frances Merle Owens, and grandparents.

She is survived by her three sisters, Delores Owens of Troy, Tx, (twin sister) Loyce Owens of Temple, TX, Sharon and husband Joe Yenger of Bellville, TX; adopted sister, Helen Willis of Temple, TX; brother, Johnny (Bubba) and wife, Sandy Owens of Temple, TX; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home. Her pastor Bro. John Hogan will be officiating. Burial will be in the Moffat Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are John Clark, Jason Race, Trey Yenger, Jasper Yenger, TJ Willis, Emerson Willis Jr., Honorary pallbearer Joe Yenger.
