John Paul Warden, age 57, of Little-River Academy, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at a local hospital. He was born on May 12, 1966 in Oklahoma City, OK to Alvin Lee and Recilla (Campbell) Warden.
A graveside service will take place on Tuesday October 17, 2023 at North Belton Cemetery Pavilion at 3:30pm. Eulogist Wayne Carpenter, retired Deputy Superintendent of Belton ISD (BISD) and Mayor of Belton, and cousin of Sharon Warden, will officiate. Music will be offered by Clinton Barrineau, Choir Director in Waco ISD, and John’s 3rd grade student (BISD, 2012) as well as John’s sister-in-law, Karen Dulaney Smith.
John was a member of the Chickasaw Nation and a cryptologist in the United States Navy. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and his Master's Degree from Texas A&M University of Central Texas. John was a teacher by vocation and profession, a math specialist at Sparta Elementary in the Belton Independent School District. He enjoyed sports and singing. A special joy in his adult life was performing in a production at the Temple Civic Theatre.
John was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, and their children,Lauren and Nolan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Alvin Wayne Warden and is survived by his sisters Susan McClelland of Newalla, OK and Robin Carter of Van Alstyne, TX.
