October 24, 1938- October 12, 2015
Beauty and grace entered the Gates of Heaven on October 12, 2015 at the age of 76. Jean loved her husband Ted of almost 56 years. The two were married on January 28, 1960 at Bergstrom AFB in Austin, Texas.
The family settled into their first home at Bergstrom in 1964 and brought home their first child, a beautiful girl that she loved with all of heart, Saundra. The family moved to Mt. Home AFB in Idaho and with love and joy they brought home a baby boy, John. Jean loved her children deeply and enjoyed taking them to track meets, girlscouting, slumber parties, football and baseball games, and for music that John participated in. Her two children were her laughline and loveline, making her smile until the end.
Jean also loved her grandsons Dylan Scott Edds and his wife Darby, Justin Colbee Channing, Colden and Colbee Channing, her granddaughter Lacen Channing, as well as her great grandson Jaxon Randall Edds and Quinton Channing. She was unable to meet her new grandson due January 24th Kolton Russell Edds or to see her grandson graduate from the Police Academy, but she will be with them in spirit.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ray and Ruth Pyeatt. Jean leaves behind her husband Ted, daughter Saundra Channing, son John Channing, brother Gilbert Bernhard, Sister Joyce Kaske .
Services for Mrs. Channing will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Hood officiating and burial will follow at Bellwood memorial Park in Temple. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Awareness and Liver Cancer Awareness funds.
