Ethelene Nanette Lutes-Rodriguez was born in Fort Worth, TX on Jan 14, 1935, and graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1952. She married and began raising a family. She worked at the Burleson Police Dept. and later at the Texas Land Office in Austin for several years before returning to Burleson in the early 1980s where she began her Real Estate career. She owned and operated Carpenter Real Estate in the Burleson area. She spent many years active in real estate in Johnson County, as well as working with local and state level political leaders to help shape public policy for over 20 years before retiring to Temple.
She is preceded in death by her husband Michael Rodriguez, a son James Michael Carpenter, a police officer killed in the line of duty and by three brothers, Milton Lutes, Wallace Lutes and Tommy Lutes.
She is survived by son, Mark Carpenter, and daughters Kathy Carpenter and Kimberly Carpenter. She is also survived by two grandchildren: Carolyn Carpenter Tyler and Brian Carpenter. She is also very proud of her five great grandchildren: Jack Tyler, Sam Tyler, Ruby Carpenter, Vivian Carpenter and Logan Carpenter.
Ethelene lived life to the fullest. She never met a stranger and was generous with all she had. She enjoyed traveling and sharing good food with friends and family.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple, Texas.
