Anna Pauline Patton, 91, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Emery J. Lilge Hospice House in Burleson, Texas. She was surrounded by her family. Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Grace Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Bellwood Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy W. Patton, parents Elsie and Royce Ayres, and brothers Elmer, Willard, and Harlan Ayres.
Anna graduated from Pharr-San Juan-Alamo High School and attended Daughan's Business College in San Antonio. She married Leroy "Pat" Patton on June 20, 1942. They shared a love for Texas and lived there most of their lives except for a short time in Colorado. They raised their family in Pharr, El Paso, and Los Fresnos before moving to Houston in 1976 and then to Temple in 1981.
Anna's greatest accomplishments in life were being an incredible wife, an awesome mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a great friend. Anna and Pat were founding members of Highland Presbyterian Church in El Paso and were active members of First United Methodist Church in Los Fresnos and Grace Presbyterian Church in Temple. She participated in many church activities including Meal-on-Wheels and Logos. She was actively involved in Central Texas Republican women and was named a Pioneer by the Republican Party of Bell County.
Survivors include her son George Patton (Janet) of Benbrook, daughter Beverly Loyd of Burleson, granddaughters Rhiannon Roark (Dave), Leah Duran (Michael) , Melissa Patton, Annde Loyd, and Kathryn Moore (Steve), great-grandchildren Trinity and Caleb Duran, Fallon Frank, and Taylor and Hannah Roark, sister Ione Waldron, sister-in-law Grace Patton, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Grace Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity.
