Patty grew up in Seminole Heights, where she graduated from Hillsborough High School class of 1956, and met the love of her life, Ernest L. “Bud” Maney.
Patty and Bud married in 1958 at Seminole Heights Methodist and eventually settled in Temple Terrace to raise their family. They were active members of Temple Terrace United Methodist Church. She enjoyed golfing at Temple Terrace Country Club.
Once the children were older she began a second career as co-owner and operator of two businesses with her husband. While running the operations of the family plant nursery she developed experience that would serve her well as an elected member of Tampa Palms Community Development District. She served in this position for 16 years, promoting landscape and playgrounds.
Social and outgoing, Patty made friends everywhere she went and found joy in volunteering. Homeroom mom, Cub Scouts, Methodist charities, Meals on Wheels and Tampa Palms Ladies Club are some of the organizations that benefited from her time. She loved playing Bridge and played with many groups throughout her life in Temple Terrace, Tampa Palms and Concordia Village.
Her greatest loves remained her family and her husband who will miss her dearly and cherish all she selflessly gave.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Ernest "Buddy" Maney; daughter, Amy Arrington (John); son, Ken Maney (Missie); grandchildren, Clara and Ethan Arrington and Paxton and Cooper Maney; and great-grandchildren, Decklyn and Jonah Arrington and Holden Maney.
The memorial service will be held on March 1, 2024 at 2:00 at Concordia Village Chapel located at 4100 East Fletcher Ave. Tampa, Fl 33613.
