Peggy graduated from Tulsa’s Central High in 1944 and subsequently studied Radio Communications and Fine Arts at the University of Tulsa where she met Julio C. Medina Sr., a soon-to-be graduate of petroleum engineering. They married in 1945 and moved to Venezuela, where they lived in Lagunillas, Jusepin, Quiriquire, Caripito, San Tome, Maracaibo and Caracas. She became a veteran of the oil field life and lived the golden era of Venezuela participating actively in Little Theatre.
In 1982 she returned to live in the United States where an old neighborhood friend of her brother’s, Billy Easter, courted her immediately and they were married from 1985 until his passing in 2002.
Peggy loved to laugh and dance. She had such fond memories of her young life in Tulsa that in the hours before her passing she thought she was in her dorm at TU and couldn’t wait for the next dance to be organized.
Her daughter, Lyana, sadly passed away in 2009 in California but Peggy is survived by her sons, Julio Jr. and Jay both residing in Texas, her youngest daughter, Nancy of Florida, 10 grandchildren (Evie, Janet, Brian, Reni, Nichole, Jay Jr., Gian, Stefano, Alessandro, and John Walter ), and 8 great-grandchildren (Trey, Audrey, Katie, Abbey, Merrick, Evan, Ava, and Domenico).
A Celebration of Peggy’s Life will be held in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 2-4pm at Terrace Oaks Funeral Home, 12690 N 56th ST, Temple Terrace, Florida, 33617
