Jon was a 1994 graduate of Sandy High School in Sandy, Oregon. He was an MP in the United States Air Force, serving from March, 1995 to September, 1999 earning the Rank of SrA. Jon graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business.
Jon worked in Anti Financial Crimes at Citibank since 2010. A significant amount of that time was spent as a Vice President in the CRIU where he led and mentored several SAR filing teams and ad hoc compliance projects. Most recently he was promoted to Senior Vice President as the Governance and Oversight Head of North America where he oversaw multiple compliance functions.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jennifer Bandas. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Lauren Smith; his beloved sons, Jackson and Landon Smith; stepmother, Janet Smith; brother, Christopher Smith (Alexander Gordon); nephew, Jacob Bandas (Shelby Bandas); and nieces, Amelia and Zoey Smith-Gordon.
A celebration of Jon's life will be held at 2 PM, Friday, December 13, 2024 at Blount and Curry, Terrace Oaks Chapel, 12690 N. 56th Street, Temple Terrace, FL 33617.
