Austin was born as the third child and only son of Marina Ann Wilburn and Jay Matthew LeHeup on February 9th, 1999 in Tampa, Florida. He was homeschooled, and later attended Gary Adult High School where he excelled and earned his GED. Austin last worked at Applebee’s Grill + Bar in Temple Terrace. He attended Hope Church Baptist Fellowship, where he was cherished by all who knew him. Austin loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and served him well through his kind and generous spirit. He enjoyed making others laugh, playing video games, shooting, cooking, and karaoke. Austin was a gifted singer whose soulful voice moved all who heard it. He was a faithful confidant to many, and was always ready and willing to help to a friend in need. His big heart, warm smile, bear hugs, and hearty contagious laugh will be greatly missed by all his friends and relatives.
Austin is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Homer and Ingeborg Wilburn, his paternal grandfather Garnet LeHeup, his paternal step-grandfather Thomas Jackson, and his maternal aunt Andrea Marsing.
Austin is survived by his parents, his sisters Heidi LeHeup and Hanna Ward, his nephew John Ward, and his paternal grandmother Mary Lou Jackson, along with many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday August 13th at 4:00pm at Hope Church, located at 8302 Temple Terrace Highway, Temple Terrace, Florida, 33637. The service will be performed by Pastor Len Burgess with a eulogy by Austin’s uncle Dr. John LeHeup. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
