Amy Hill Stone, was born November 29, 1950, in Tampa, Florida, and died Sunday March 13, 2022. Amy attended Seminole Hts Elementary and Seminole Hts Methodist Church; she graduated from Hillsborough H.S. in 1968 and the University of South Florida, with a B.S. in Communications. Amy then began her career at WFLA
Channel-8, where she was employed in public relations and production for many years prior to retiring from the Florida Dept. of Motor Vehicles. Amy, who worked her way through college, also worked at Bryn-Alan Studios, Publix, and even did a stint in the Naval Reserves.
Amy was predeceased by her parents, Eugene A. and Doris Baker Hill and her brother-in-law, Gerald A. Boonstra. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Richard M. Stone; sisters Jeana H. Boonstra of Brandon and Temple Terrace and Rebecca S. Hill (Roger Myers) of Colorado; nieces Dawn B. Hernandez, Robin and Gena Boney; nephews Matthew A. Boonstra (Jennifer Pedraza) and Gavin E. Boonstra (Lauren Braun); stepson Shannon Stone (Debbie Stone); and Italian "sister," Piera Caporeli.
Amy was a proud lifelong resident of Old Seminole Hts, and a loyal friend, neighbor, cousin and co-worker to an incredible number of folks with whom she maintained loving and lasting relationships and shared many laughs.
Friends are invited to join the family at 2 pm on Saturday, March 19th at Blount & Curry, 12690 N. 56th Street, Temple Terrace, to celebrate Amy's life and wicked wit.
