John C. "Pete" Redmond

John “Pete “ Cubbie Redmond age 76 of Tazewell, was born December 3, 1940, passed away on April 8, 2017. He was a member of Straightway Baptist Church. Pete was a “jack of all trades” which included drywall, logging and farming. He also loved to whittle and never met a stranger. But most of all he was a loving father, grandfather, husband, son and a friend to all that knew him.

Pete was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years Norma Jean . His Parents John and Hassie Maddox Redmond, grandparents; Jefferson Scofield and Lizzie Hunter Maddox, Brother; Reldon Redmon, sisters; Mary Fleeman and husband Noah , Christine Patton, and Dora Moss, half-brothers; Hugh Redmon, Joy G. Redmon, half-sisters; Rosie Jones , Florence Bray and Irene Maiden, niece; Sandy Lawson.

Survived by son: Timothy Redmond

Daughter and husband: Jennifer and Scott Matlock

Son and wife: Dennis and Amy Redmond

Grandchildren: Addison Welch, Johnathan Redmond, Anna Jean Redmond

Brother and wife: Jimmy and Lucille Redman

Special Friends: Matthew Sandifer, Emily Sandifer and Carly Sandifer

The Family will receive friends Tuesday April 11 from5-8pm at the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in New Tazewell , Funeral service will be Wednesday April 12 at 11:00am in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in New Tazewell , with graveside service to follow in the Bethel Cemetery
