Vera was born in Hutto, TX to Andrew and Signe Franzen on September 12, 1930. She was the third youngest of 10 children. After graduating from Hutto High School in 1948 Vera moved to Austin where she fell in love with George F. (Phil) Law. Vera loved being the wife of an Air Force Major and traveled the world with him and their children. The couple settled in Taylor, TX, where Vera lived.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents Signe and Andrew, husband Phil, brothers Anton and Walden, sisters Margeret, Dorothy, Doris, Eloise, Evelyn, and Bertha Mae, and her grandson Gregory Law. She is survived by her brother Eric Franzen of Louisiana, daughter Phyllis Christensen of Taylor, sons Richard Law and wife Colleen of Oklahoma, Roger Law and wife Amy of Alabama, her grandchildren Adam Christensen, Kelsey Callaway and husband Shaun, Jeff Law, Megan Glover and husband Andrew Glover, Whitney Smith and husband Walker. She is also survived by her eight great- grandchildren: Molly, Carter, Emory, Hayes, Phoebe, Bohdi, Rocky, and Tiger.
Vera was a huge Hutto Hippo fan. She loved to color, watch Wheel of Fortune, and enjoy a cold Budweiser. She was a member of the Hutto Discovery United Methodist Church. Vera’s ashes will be spread along the bank of the beautiful San Gabriel River at Rowe Valley, as were her husbands, 33 years ago. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
