Lupe was born in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico on 19 December 1936 to the late Felix Garcia Garcia and Cruz Rodriguez. Lupe was a life-long Taylor resident where she raised her children and remained an active participant of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and was a life-time member of the Guadalupana Society.
As a loving mother and grandmother, Lupe always made her family the highest priority. She impressed upon them discipline, good ethics, and high morals. As a committed member of the Catholic Church and Guadalupana Society, Lupe engaged in charitable work in her community while promoting and demonstrating her devotion to the teachings of the Virgin Mary.
Lupe is survived by six children: Esperanza Rosales (children – Luis, Jesus, Celia, Connie, Dora, Claudia, and Ruby); Raymond Hernandez (wife Helen and children – Christopher, Matthew, and Daniel); Connie Oyervides (children – Joe, Edward, and James); Martin Hernandez; surviving children of now-deceased daughter, Virginia Hernandez (sons – Frank, John Michael, Nicholas); Frances De La Garza (husband Albert and daughter – Anisa); and Manuel Hernandez (son – Liam). Lupe’s living sibling is Beatrice Nuñez. As the true matriarch she was, Lupe has 50+ grandchildren/great grandchildren and counting.
Lupe is preceded in death by: Rojelio Hernandez (son); Virginia Hernandez (daughter); Cruz Rodriguez (mother); Felix Garcia (father); and brothers – ppl Henry Ruiz, Felix Garcia, Joe (Bruno) Ruiz, and Geronimo Ruiz.
The Rosary will take place on Monday, 18 November 2024 at 7:00pm (visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00pm) at Condra Funeral Home at 503 Talbot St. Taylor, Texas 76574. Mass service will be held on Tuesday, 19 November at 10:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 111 W Rio Grande St., Taylor, Texas 76574. Lupe’s pallbearers will consist of six of her grandchildren.
