Floyd was born in Taylor, Texas on July 6, 1948, to the late Eddie and Olga Hejl. He graduated from Taylor High School in 1966. After, he went on to join the Army where he served in the 25th infantry in Vietnam from 1966 to 1970. Floyd married Janie on July 17, 1971; they were married for 51years.
Floyd was a man on many trades for many years. Floyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, listening to music, and spending time with his family. He especially loved his service dog Little Bit.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Janie. Son, Floyd Jr. (Courtney), Brother, Edward (Helen), Sister, Rebecca Cuba (Arnold). Grandchildren, Floyd III (Savanah), Caitlyn, Laci, Lindsey, and Leigha. Great Granddaughters Lincoln and Hazel. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Floyd is preceded in death by his son, Reuben (Lynna).
A visitation for Floyd will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Condra Funeral Home, Taylor, Texas. A rosary will occur Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 7:00 PM, Taylor, Texas. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Taylor, TX.
Honorary pallbearer is Little Bit. Floyd Hejl III, Scotty Hejl, Christopher Hejl, John Cuba, Michael Cuba and Cody Weber will serve as pallbearers.
Floyd will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery , Taylor , TX.
