Wilma C. Martin

Wilma Cowart Martin, 90, passed away peacefully in her home on August 6, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles G. Martin; and grandson, Richard Lee Casey, Jr. Wilma is survived by her children Dr. Charles G. Martin, Jr. (Cathy); Joseph Richard Martin (Heidi); Alvie Martin Casey (Lee); grandchildren Virginia Casey Galavis (Bear), Sarah and Jack Casey, Charlie, Maggie and Katie Martin, and Wesley and Maddie Martin; and great-grandchildren Barron and Frances Galavis. Wilma attended Roosevelt Elementary School, Wilson Junior High School, Plant High School and Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Wilma was a real estate icon of South Tampa with an exceptional gift of hospitality. Her warm and friendly spirit made everyone feel welcome and certainly well fed. She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Tampa Yacht & Country Club, The Junior League of Tampa, The Chiselers and The H.B. Plant Museum Society. A funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church on Thursday, August 19 at 11 am.
