Willis Albert Lamb Jr.

On the evening of June 17, 2022, Willis Albert “Bill” Lamb, Jr. of Tampa, Florida passed away at the age of 83. Bill was born to Willis and Lucille Lamb in 1939 and raised in Archibald, Louisiana. Bill joined the United States Air Force in 1956 and was eventually transferred to MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida where he met his wife, Eloise. Bill and Eloise were married for 51 years and raised four children together. After his discharge from the Air Force, he enrolled in Hillsborough Community College and obtained his AA degree. He eventually became a Water Plant Operator and retired from the Hillsborough County School System. Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Eloise; his parents, Willis and Lucille; brother, Billy Davis; sister, Maxine Rushing; and his grandson Carey. He is survived by his brother, Thomas Earl Lamb; sisters, Janice Lamb Jones and Gwen Lamb Hyde; sons Eldon Meeker, Byrne Lamb (Donna), Alan Lamb (April) and daughter Nell Lamb Herndon (Craig) as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 1, 2022 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 3207 W. Bearrs Avenue, Tampa, FL 33618.

Bill will be honored with Military Honors and laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery with a private family ceremony.
