So sorry to hear about this and my deepest condolences to the family. I always respected and looked up to Billy, he was always the smartest person in the meeting or conversation even if you didn't agree with the delivery!! He will be missed and was a great friend, mentor, and friend.

Thanks to all Billy's friends and family for sharing the photos and fond memories that I didn't have the pleasure of being part of. Billy really had a good life with all these great friends! He was a happy guy!

Looking for waves. We used to call Ron Jon surf shop collect,  and had a code in the way they declined the charges and the call,  to find out if there were any waves before we made the 2-3 hour trip. I still can barely surf.

Billy Prince was my one best friend. He was REALLY a best friend to many others. Please think about it, it is truly a rare person who holds the title of best friend to many people. We miss him now and forever. He was always there for us!
Many of us were lifted up as we followed his successful path into the electronics fields. He was the heart of Data Systems / Bannax and because of him we and our families prospered. Many of us who work there realized that the profit was coming from Billy. We would go out and quickly remove circuit boards from broken point of sale cash registers and other computers and put in replacement printed circuit boards. Customers either paid dearly for these PCBs, or paid annual service contracts so they were not hit with unexpected costly we repairs. Because of Billy's superior knowledge of electronics and his experience repairing circuit boards at Honeywell in his early twenties, he could repair the circuit boards with schematics or general knowledge. It was the heart and backbone of profit and the food on the table for all of us, not to mention Christmas bonuses insurance etc. I remember coming home to the apartment from work in the evening and seeing Billy laying on the couch with a thick book inches from his nose. The title of that book was "8080 Bug Book," and it wasn't about insects. It was about computer chips. He was so interested that he would start reading it in the daytime and as it got dark he would not pull away and turn on a light, he would just keep bringing that book closer and closer to his nose.
Other than my wife and two sons, 90% of my memories are with Billy.
I am sad for all of us, but our lives were enriched by his presence.
My condolences to Hugh, Linda, and Bobby. I recently wished Billy a Happy "BEST" Father's Day. Hugh, I
will never forget all the times you and Martha took us to church and then after, to a steak dinner at the great restaurants. Also the flight in your Piper Cub is another fond memory.

I had the privilege of working with Billy at Bannex/Wang/Getronics for several years.  He saved our butts so many times with his knowledge of electronics and technology.   There was NOTHING he could not fix!



Billy made a great impression on me when I was hired at Data Systems of Florida. I was only there 1 week when I had to break up a fight between him and another employee. I finally earned his respect after a couple of years when he no longer referred to me as Dumb ass. I worked with him for over 25 yrs. and he constantly amazed me with his technical skills and the ability to fix anything. I think of him often but lost touch after all the years. I will never forget this special guy.

I met Billy when I was a teenager thru my Brother in-law Jerry Perry and began surfing and hanging out with him and eventually worked with him at Bannex. We spent many Sebring Auto Races together with all the crew and what a blast we had!! Billy was a very intelligent person and great surfer and Friend!! R.I.P Billy

Billy was my brother.   I loved him greatly.  I always wished i was a better brother and had spent more time with him.  He was 3 yrs my younger so we didn’t do a lot together as we got older.  Once I told him that I regretted that and apologized  for not being a better brother.  He told me not to worry  and acted like it was nothing.   That was Billy.  That is how he always was.  He never showed anything but love for me and everyone,  as far as I know.  He was a very good and wonderful person.  

I’m in HS and it was my first trip to Whitney Beach. I see a guy shredding a left off the end of a small pier. I was like whoa, who’s that? It was Billy and let me tell you he had the smoothest style of ANYONE back in the day! I feel lucky, it was a privilege to call him friend. RIP brother 💔✌️

What a tragedy.  I am really sorry for your loss at a time when you were just selected as the Sertoman of the Year, an honor your civic club bestowed upon you.

    I would like to send a condolences to Billy's family. I owe a great deal to Billy.  He helped me get started in our field and we ended up working together for over 20 years.  Several of those years we were also roommates.  Billy very well could be the smartest person I have ever know.  When it came to electronics as well as the software needed to make it work, he was the man. He solved every problem thrown at him eventually.  He had quite the vocabulary even though he chose to paraphrase a lot. Before I grabbed a dictionary, I would ask Billy, and darned if he didn't know the meaning off the top of his head. 
     Although he had a tough exterior, his interior was all heart.  This would explain why so many of us loved him and will be missing him dearly.  After he retired I would still call him for advice or offer him up some side work and catch up.  I was happy for him that he reconnected with his passion for surfing. He was a natural and could hang with the best.  I suppose if you have to go, going while doing something you love is more than you can ask for. 
   To a truly unique one of a kind person, I will miss you and I love you like a brother.
