Thomas John Schmidt

Thomas John Schmidt passed away on September 22, 2022. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio to John and Katherine Schmidt on April 28th, 1951. He attended high school at Valley Forge in Parma. Tom went to the University of Cincinnati and graduated with a Bachelors in Accounting and received his CPA certification. Tom married the love of his life, Linda Schmidt on August 31, 1976 in Cleveland, Ohio. Tom excelled in his career for 50 years and retired in 2016 after 15 years as Chief Financial Officer for Crown Automotive. He was nominated for Tampa Bay CFO of the year in 2016. Tom’s life was an example of service and loyalty to his family, friends, career, St Paul’s Catholic Church and especially to his wife Linda. His generosity and welcoming spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.

Tom is preceded in death by parents, John and Katherine and wife, Linda Schmidt. He is survived by children, Tony Schmidt (Jenna) and Joe Schmidt; sisters, Eileen Kovalchik (Al) and Nancy Laggan (Bill) and one grandchild, Harper Grace Schmidt.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00pm, Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the Blount and Curry Funeral Home - Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W. Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618 with a prayer service from 1:00-1:30pm. A Celebration of life will follow from 1:30- 2:30pm.
