He was born in Lake Wales, FL. He attended the University of Florida, and went on to serve in The United States Air Force. After leaving the military, he went on to get his B.A . in Economics from Florida Southern College. He was a huge Gator fan and attended many games with his dear friends, George “Mr. Two Bits” Edmondson and his wife, Jane. A former member of Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club, he enjoyed many dinners and golfing with friends there. When in better health, he also served weekly at the Faith Café, a homeless ministry. He was a man of faith and was a member of PCPC, Tampa, FL, but in recent years was a regular attender of Faith Community Church (formerly Faith Presbyterian), Seminole FL.
He is predeceased by his father, Thomas Jefferson Davis, mother, Bertha Inez Tucker, brother Wallace DeMel Davis, sister(s) Velma Estelle (Davis) Weeks, and Wanda Lavelle (Davis) Wyland and Penelope Ann Davis.
He was a loving husband to his surviving wife of 34 years, Alice Coe Davis, also a proud father of his son, Philip Kyle Davis (Anna Marie), and his three step-children, Cathy Crider Atchison (Tom), Julie Crider Aman (Jeff), and Stephen Crider (Annette). He adored his ten grandchildren, Julianne Atchison Braker, Jenna Aman DeRosse, Kelsey Crider, Kolby Atchison, Jared Aman, Sara Davis, Danielle Crider, Joshua Aman, Elizabeth Atchison, and Kyle Davis, Jr. He also had three great-grandchildren; Sienna Braker, Reese Braker, and Rhett Braker. He leaves many friends at Elmcroft Senior Living. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016, at Christ Community Church, Tampa, FL. Visitation at 10 am and the service at 11 am. Memorial gifts can be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, Lifepath Hospice, or your local place of worship.
