Tammy Vitte, 59, of Odessa, Florida passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cecelia Bosanko, and brother, James Smith, Jr. She leaves loving memories to be cherished by her father, Dale Weaver; son, Joshua Vitte; daughter, Jessica Hammond; granddaughter, Abby Wood; and countless other family members and close friends.
Tammy was passionate about helping others and selflessly gave to those in need without ever expecting anything in return. Her compassion and kindness were boundless and extended from her family and friends, all the way to people that she barely knew.
After earning a degree in nursing and graduating with honors, she devoted much of her life to working in healthcare and adjacent industries. Through exhausting hard work and dedication, she eventually went on to hold leadership positions in several healthcare revenue cycle management organizations. In recent years, her love for family and community led to her focusing much of her efforts into the family’s business, Bo’s Ice Cream, when her mother and step-father reached retirement age. She became the sole owner and operator until passing the reins along to her son.
Tammy was at her happiest at her home on Lake Pretty in the company of family, including her granddaughter, Abby, niece, Olivia, nephew, Nathan, and her spoiled and adored Shar Pei, Rosie.
A celebration of life for Tammy will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:30-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Crisis Center of Tampa Bay in Tammy’s honor.
