Sara C. Denton

DENTON, Sara C., 97, spiritually transitioned on November 18, 2014. Her spiritual transition was preceded in 1996 by her beloved husband of 54 years, Tommy B. Denton. She is devotedly survived by sons, Tommy B. Denton, Jr. (Corinne) and John R. Denton (Kathryn); grandchildren, Matthew C. Denton, Brian J. Denton (Tracy) and Kimberly A. Denton; great grandchildren, Austin T. Denton and Skye M. Denton.

In 1935, Sara graduated from Hillsborough High School and later graduated from Brewster Vocational School. She took classes at HCC.

Over the years, Sara worked for Richard D. Morales, attorney, Commercial Credit Finance Company, Beckwith Holmes Hudson Packard dealer, Avon Cosmetic Products and enjoyed 45 years at Seminole Heights Community Center.

After retirement from city recreation, Sara enjoyed attending bingo games at St. Lawrence Church, Barksdale Recreation Center, Forest Hills Recreation Center, Rocky Creek Village and American Legion Post 111, of which she was a member.

Sara frequently expressed appreciation for the years of inspiration she received from Unity of Tampa.

A visitation will be held at Unity of Tampa, 3302 West Horatio Street, Tampa, 33609 at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 29, 2014 followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm. Following the funeral service, a procession will proceed to Garden of Memories Cemetery for a graveside service and interment.
