88, a native of Tampa, passed away at home on October 23, 2015. He was born on February 14, 1927. He attended Hillsborough High School and after graduation in 1945, he was drafted into the Army. He trained at Camp Blanding in Florida as Rifle Infantrymen. He was shipped to European Theatre, "88th Blue Devil Division" and served in "Port Battalion" in Naples, Italy . He was transferred to Gorizia, Italy in the Army Signal Company for a total of 2 years in the service. He worked at Sears & Roebuck for 16 years and 25 years at American Freight Company where he retired in 1988. October 3, 1948, he married, Josephine Belluccio and spent 67 beautiful years together. He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine B. Palmeri; daughter, Janie Marie Palmeri; granddaughter, Caylen Ann Palmeri and great grandson Sergio Michael Boeing. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Allen Palmeri. Sam lived a full life filled with love and compassion. He will be missed most by the loves of his life-wife, daughter "Sweet Pea" and great grandson. He leaves a gift of memories to all the lives he touched and will live within the hearts of family and friends forever.
