Robert E. “Robbie” Kelley, III, 50, passed away unexpectedly due to coronary artery disease in Tampa on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. He was a devoted son, father, brother, and uncle. Born in Taipei, Taiwan, he was the son of SuChen Chiang Kelley and Robert E. Kelley, II. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Kelley, II.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, mother, three sisters and five nieces and nephews. He is survived by his son, Jeremy Kelley of St. Petersburg, his mother, SuChen Kelley of Brandon, his three sisters, Margaret Fowler and her husband, Clay of Brandon, Elizabeth Barrett of Lithia, and Roberta Bradford of Lithia. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Erika Barrett of Spring Hill, TN, Bridget Barrett of Atlanta, GA, Joshua Fowler of Riverview, Alex Fowler of Brandon, and Katie Bradford of Lithia.
Robbie loved spending time with his family and friends attending weekend gatherings watching and playing basketball, football, and racquet sports. Robbie was a warm and caring person with a heart of gold and he went out of his way to help family, friends, and acquaintances. He was an avid supporter of The Tampa Bay Lightning, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and UFC. He also enjoyed sport shooting and spending time at the gun range.
Robbie was a graduate of Robinson High School in Tampa. He had a career in manufacturing as a Utility Technician with GAF Roofing. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Union and enjoyed working alongside his teammates.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted from 1-3p on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Avenue, Tampa, FL 33609.
