Richard was born in Miami, Florida to Clyde Geiger Sr. and Ruth Ponce Geiger on June 1, 1960. He went to school in south Florida, graduating from Cooper City High School. He married Dianne Hruska Geiger on June 1, 1985 in Louisville, Kentucky. Richard worked as a professional ballet dancer in several ballet companies including Tampa Ballet, Louisville Ballet, Eglevsky Ballet (New York) and New Jersey Ballet for many years. He then transitioned to coaching and teaching ballet to dancers and students of all ages, including positions of Ballet Master in Memphis Tennessee and Tampa, as well as teaching at several dance studios in the Tampa area.
Richard is preceded in death by both of his parents and older brother Clyde Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Hruska Geiger, children Erica Geiger Ulmer (Cason Ulmer) and Clyde Geiger III, brother Michael Geiger, and granddaughter Lilly Ulmer.
