Rebecca Blake

Rebecca Blake, Age 86 of Spring Hill FL, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024 at TGH Hospital in Brooksville FL surrounded by her family. She was born in Westmoreland Jamaica on February 2, 1938. She migrated to the United States in 1980 with her 3 youngest children and the 2 older ones followed a year later. She worked at Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk, Connecticut for many years until her retirement in 2002 after which she moved to Riverview, Florida in 2003. Her family was her entire world and she enjoyed hosting family dinners as her way of keeping her family together. She always taught us to prepare extra when cooking so there was enough for anyone who showed up. She loved showering her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with all her love. Her kindness and wisdom were her strength as she would give anyone in need the shirt off her back. She loved taking trips to the countryside to spend time with her sister and going to the beach with her children every weekend.

She was a very religious woman who kept her children grounded in Church. She was predeceased by her late husband Vincent Blake, and daughter-in-law Maureen Blake, Sisters Mena Brown, Ivy Jamieson, Pearline Pryce, Evelyn Rhoden, and Hazel Brown-Bruce.

She is survived by sons Robert Blake and family, Noel Blake and family, Paul Blake and (Michelle Palmer), Winston Blake and (Brenda), Daughter, Dahlia Fyffe and (Cedric), Sisters Olive Cohall (George) and Beverley London (Howard), Brothers Denny Brown (Evene) and Carlton Brown. Nieces, Nephews, and friends. Her grandchildren Stacey Ann Blake, Shayne Blake, Shane Blake, Robert Blake Jr., Chakira Fyffe, Chantelle Blake, Felicia Sonny, Channelle Blake, Talia Blake, Tameka Williams, Nykesha Fyffe, Shauna Blake, Alexander Blake, Her great grandchildren Ajanee Cradeock, Prince London Richardson, Alaysia Debnam, Anthony Williams JR., Braydon Blake, Riley Blake, Sanjali Sonny, Kyle Blake, Zoey Blake, and Noel Blake Jr.

Viewing will be at 10:00 AM followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 AM on November 23, 2024 at Blount and Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood, 3207 W. Bearss Avenue, Tampa Florida. Interment will be private.
