Peggy Sue Webb, 73, of Tampa, passed away April 24, 2015 peacefully in her home. Peggy was born in Charlotte, NC to Rankin and Lillian Foster on May 2, 1941 and grew up in Harrisburg, NC. She attended Harrisburg School from the first through twelfth grade, graduating as Valedictorian in 1959. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education from Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory, NC in 1963 and her Master’s Degree from the University of Tampa in 1978. Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and teacher. She loved to read and was devoted to her grandchildren. She was a Hillsborough County teacher for 41 years. She was also an accomplished musician on the piano, organ, and saxophone, having been church organist for many years, and accompanist for the International Choral Society of Okinawa, Japan. She loved spending time in the mountains and cooking for her family. Peggy and David were married for 51 years. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Rankin and Lillian, and is survived by her husband, David, her brother Kent Foster, her children David, Jr. and Kelly (Hangen), and her six grandchildren, Katherine, Jacob, Elena, Rebekah, Andrew and Sarah. Memorial services will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 3207 West Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33624 on April 30, 2015, with visitation to begin at 6:00pm, service starting at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Peggy’s name to Moffitt Cancer Center Tampa. Inurnment will be at a future date at the Florida National Cemetery.
