Lopez, Norma M. Chavez, 92, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021. Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Ramon Lopez. They were lifetime residents of Tampa, with many of those years spent in Temple Terrace. After Ramon's passing, she moved to Aston Gardens and was blessed to add many new friends.
She is survived by daughters, Lynn Black and Loraine Lopez; brother, Phillip Chavez (Dianne); grandson, Jamie Wright (Natalie); and great-grandson, Greyson Wright, all of Tampa. She leaves many other friends and family members who will miss her greatly.
Norma lived a full and rewarding life. She was a member of the Temple Terrace Women's Club and enjoyed a monthly Pokeno game with the same group of friends for over 30 years. Her award-winning, passion for sewing led her to complete over 90 quilts, many of which are with the people she cared about most.
She led by example. Norma was wonderfully devoted to her friends and family and always willing to share a kind word or deed. She was a lifetime supporter of St. Jude Children's Hospital and would be honored if you would donate or take a moment to share an act of kindness with others in her memory.
The family would like to thank the wonderful people at Ramon Chang AFCH for caring for Norma in her final days.
