It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mikel Page Kennedy, who left us peacefully on March 16th,2024, at the age of 81 in Wesley Chapel, Florida. Born on July 13, 1942 in Chattahoochee, Florida.
He lived a life marked by kindness, integrity, and love for his family and friends. Mikel's presence was a gift to all who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt by many. He loved his partner in life Patricia Kennedy fiercely. He was a caring grandfather and a loving father. His gentle spirit and generous heart touched countless lives throughout his years. He was a hard-working man. He was part of the class of 1961 in Hillsborough High School and then attended the University of Tampa. He was a history teacher and the basketball coach at Tampa Catholic High School. He then owned premier nightclubs in Tampa. He worked hard and built a life for himself and his family with blood, sweat, and tears. Nothing more. As we bid farewell to Mikel we are comforted by the memories we hold dear, the stories we shared, and the enduring impact he made on our lives. He will be remembered with great affection and honored for the legacy of compassion and warmth he leaves behind.
A service to celebrate Mikel's life will be held on April 13th, 2024 at Blount and Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618 at 10:30 am. The family invited all who knew and loved Mikel to join in honoring his memory. With heartfelt gratitude for the time we shared with Mikel, we say goodbye for now, until we meet again.
He was preceded in death by his mother Rubye Hill Kennedy, father Herbert Kennedy, sisters Eloise Kennedy and Callie Kennedy Jeffries, and brother Quinnie Kennedy. He is survived by his partner in life Patricia Kennedy, son Tyson Kennedy, and daughter Daina Kennedy Greene. Stepsons Steven Jourdenais, David Jourdenais, and multiple grandchildren.
The pallbearers that will be assisting in the celebration of life for Mr. Mikel Kennedy are Carl Aldridge, Carl Benke, Dennis Kennedy, Mike Ferrara, Andras Szieberth, Patrick Kennedy, Bill Falkner, and Darby White.
