Miguel Angel Lopez Sr., MD. passed away on April 18, 2018 at the age of 84. Born in Cabaiguan, Las Villas, Cuba to the late Jose Lopez and Amparo Perez Lopez, Miguel moved from Cuba to Miami, FL in 1971. After living in Texas for a few years, he and his wife Adela Yanta Lopez settled in Tampa in 1975 where they raised their son Miguel Angel Jr. Miguel Sr. worked for many years in Tampa as a family practice doctor at MacDill AFB, in private practice and as director of Hillsborough County Health Department. He is survived by his loving family; wife Adela, son Miguel Jr., daughter-in-law Isela Cruz Lopez, grandchildren Lauren Lopez Betancourt, Melissa Lopez Gotcher, Christina Lopez and great grandson Miguel Angel Betancourt IV and his sister Hidelisa Lopez.
