Mary L Schneider

SCHNEIDER, Mary Lorean (Whitcomb, Pickens) of Wesley Chapel, FL, was born August 28, 1926 in Plant City, FL, to the late Rev. Robert Whitcomb and Mabel Ryals Whitcomb. Mary passed away March 19, 2018. Soon after graduating from Hillsborough High School, Tampa, FL, she married her sweetheart Jim Pickens. After raising a family she eventually moved to Land O’ Lakes, FL and worked in the guidance department at Land O’ Lakes High School. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Pickens and Harry Schneider; brothers, Oscar Whitcomb, Ed Whitcomb and Marvin Whitcomb; sisters, Cleo Warder, Stella Morgan, Joy Crawford and granddaughter, Kendra Suzan Pickens. Mary is survived by her sons, Kenton Pickens (Susan), Timothy Pickens (Martha) and daughters, Joan Johnston (John) and Karen Beggs (Randall); 3 granddaughters Jennifer Johnston Martin (Greg), Keelyn Pickens Carter (Jason), Jessica Johnston Donahue (Corey); 2 step-granddaughters and 15 great-grandchildren. Idlewild Baptist Church was Mary’s home Church where she was in The ‘Women of Faith’ Sunday school class. She was a member of Northdale OWLS and enjoyed her Friday Night Ladies group with all her friends. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and amazing friend. Her steadfast Christian faith was an inspiration to all who knew her. Funeral service will be Monday, March 26, at Idlewild Baptist Church, Lutz, Florida. Visitation will be 12 noon, service at 1 pm.
