Keene, Mary Dell, 83, of Tampa passed away in the comfort of her own home on January 19, 2021; joining her husband, Dennis, and her eldest son, Rick, who preceded her in death. Born on May 1, 1937 to John and Margaret Grizzard, Mary Dell is survived by sons, Randy and Kevin. Also surviving Mary Dell is her sister, Betty, and brothers, Marvin and Jimmy; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, “adopted” grandchildren and many other family and friends.
Mary Dell was the kind of woman who was always in the kitchen making sure her full house of friends and family had delicious food for their gatherings, so it only made sense when she started her catering company, Mary Dell’icious catering. The annual family vacations to Indian Rocks were so loved by Mary Dell that they continued these vacations with their grandchildren and friends for years and years. The family wishes to thank everyone who has touched Mary Dell’s life and for all to know Heaven has received an amazing woman who will be laid to rest Thursday, January 28, 2021.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, interment to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the name of Mary Dell Keene and family.
