Mary Dominguez Caruso

1916- 2016

Mary Dominguez Caruso "Little Mary" 100, of Tampa, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2016. Preceded in death by her husband, Claude B. Caruso, parents Eulogio and Rosina Dominguez and five siblings Joe, Pat, Jimmy, Robert and Cecelia. She is survived by her daughter Doreen Alvarez-Garcia (Robert), grandsons Jason (Susan), Brian (Brianna), great grandchildren Alex, Andrew, Anthony, Nicholas and Ali, and several nephews and nieces. Mary was born and grew up in Ybor City. She worked at Perfecto Garcia as a cigar maker for 30 years. Mary and Claude were married 56 years and resided in Seminole Heights retiring together in 1978. Mary particularly enjoyed her passion for sewing, and they both enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and most of all taking care of their grandsons. Our very special thanks to Shady Palms ALF for being her second family for the last 14 years. Their quality of care in a supportive and loving environment made all the difference in the longevity of Mary's 100 years of life. A visitation will take place on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 8:30AM to 9:30AM at Gonzalez Funeral Home. Funeral services will then begin at 9:30AM with interment to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Thonotosassa, FL.
