McKelvey, Mark W., 94, of Tampa passed away April 12, 2016. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 47 years, Aldine in 2009 and also by his parents, Marcus McKelvey and Clara Perry and sister, Clara Miller. Survivors include his children, Carol Martin (Burnham) of Tampa, Kent McKelvey (Herbie) of Michigan, Ron McKelvey (Linda) of Michigan, and Cheryl Templeton (Mike) of Montana; 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and nephew, Lindsay Miller. Mark was a 4 year WWII Veteran serving in the United States Navy as a Lt. Mark was born in Detroit, Michigan and resided there for many years and in Bay City, Michigan where he lived on a golf course so he could play golf almost every day. Mark retired from Michigan Bell as Division Manager after 32 years of service. He and Aldine were among the first residents of Aston Gardens, coming there in 2001. He was very active in the Lutheran Church and several volunteer organizations. He served on the Michigan Lutheran Social Services Board for 16 years, volunteer Saginaw SCORE Counselor (Service Corps of Retired Executives), Manager Saginaw Enterprise Center (business incubator), as well as for many other organizations. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm on Wednesday, April 20 at the Blount and Curry funeral Home, Oldsmar/West Hillsborough Chapel, 6802 Silvermill Drive, Tampa. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday April 21 at 1:30 pm at All Saints Lutheran Church, 5315 Van Dyke Rd, Lutz, Fl. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Saints Lutheran Church or LifePath Hospice in Mark's memory. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care given to their dad by the staff at Carrollwood Care Center, Tampa. Special thanks to Rosa, Toni, Cecelia, Tom and Carol.
