LeeAnne Mitchell went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 31, 2017. She had courageously fought to overcome cancer. LeeAnne was a native of Tampa, having been born to Annie (Crider) Mitchell and Nathan “Ned” Mitchell at Tampa General Hospital on July 12, 1964. She attended Seminole Presbyterian School K-5, Webb Junior High and Leto High Schools. She played flute and piccolo in both bands. As a senior, she was chosen to participate in the Executive Internship Program along with seniors from several other local high schools under the leadership of Mrs. Joanne Duperrault. These students worked with and for local businesses, preparing for leadership in the business world. After graduation, LeeAnne first worked at Maas Brothers Westshore before beginning her long career at Tampa Electric Co. She held positions in remittance processing, accounts payable and accounting systems and services. LeeAnne resigned from TECO in 2006 and moved to Tennessee to care for her mother. While there, she was employed by Jackson Urology Associates and Horne Associates, an accounting firm. In 2012, she returned to Tampa and also Tampa Electric. She was positioned at Bayside Power Plant and most recently, as a business analyst at Big Bend Power Station. LeeAnne resumed her education studies and graduated from HCC. She enrolled at USF through the cohorts program sponsored by the company. She was close to obtaining her BS degree when she passed away. Lee Anne worshipped at Bethel Assembly of God Church from birth until she purchased a home in Land O’Lakes. She then attended Idlewild Baptist Church and returned there upon returning to the area in 2012. LeeAnne was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mitchell, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Crider, her dad, Ned Mitchell and brothers, Richard and Robert. She is survived by her mom, Annie Mitchell, her sister, Sharon (Michael) Clifford, her Uncle Bill and 11 cousins. Services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM, service at 11:00, and interment in the gardens, followed by light refreshments.
