Julio Carlos Blanco Repilado, of Tampa, Florida passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at the age of 92.
A native of Santiago de Cuba, Cuba, Julio moved to the US where he proudly served in the United States Air Force and was deployed to the Korean war as a communications specialist. Upon leaving the armed forces, he returned to his native island of Cuba where he met the love of his life and partner of 65 years, Isabel Garrote. They had two daughters, Lissy (Salvador) and Annie (Kyle) before exiling the island and moving to Puerto Rico. They had a third child, Julio Carlos (Shanti). He loved spending time with his two granddaughters, Sabrina and Julia, and telling them stories of his life and adventures.
Julio was the president of Blanco y Hermanos, Inc, a construction equipment sales and rental company founded by his father (Andres) and brothers (Andres and Jorge) for 30 years. He eventually retired and moved to Tampa in 2001 where he spent his retirement days taking care of his orchids, fruit trees and enjoying the sunshine.
