Judy was born in Minneapolis, MN to Irving and Barbara Naslund on March 30, 1939. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1957. Judy married her high school sweetheart Gerald (Jerry) on June 6, 1959. She worked as an administrative assistant for years while raising her family. She retired from Principal Financial Group and shortly thereafter moved to Florida to enjoy retirement.
Judy was a voracious reader and had a passion for travel that took her and Jerry around the world. She will be remembered for her quick wit, love of movies, animals, orchids, and devotion to family. Judy was active at the YMCA and loved her water classes. Her love of learning continued for years while she and Jerry attended classes with Osher Lifetime Learning Institute at USF.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents Barbara and Irving Naslund. Loved ones that will miss her dearly include her husband of 62 years, Jerry; daughters Julie (Scott and Vivienne) and Melisa (Cami); sister Lori; brother Ron; and many cousins and extended family.
A celebration of Life event to be announced later.
To honor Judy (in lieu of flowers), the family wishes memorials be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association (Alz.org) to help other families dealing with this heartbreaking disease.
The Reiter family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the caring staff at St Joseph’s North Hospital, the Home Instead and Hospice caregivers for lovingly acting as our extended family, and our supportive friends and family.
