Lynn, Jon, 66, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, June 7 after a short, but courageous battle with brain and lung cancer. Jon was born in Canfield, Ohio in 1948 to father, Leslie Lynn and mother, Mary Ella Lynn, who preceded Jon in death. A resident of Tampa for over 60 years, Jon leaves behind his wife of 35 years and the love of his life, Cindy, and twin daughters, Lesley Lynn of Tampa, FL and Staci Lynn of Nashville, TN. Jon graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1966 and completed his collegiate studies at the University of South Florida where he received both a bachelor’s and master’s degree. Jon proudly served his country for six years in the United States Navy. He enjoyed helping others plan for their future and dedicated a majority of his professional career as a financial planner in the insurance and retirement industry. Watching his daughter’s play softball was his favorite pastime. He would tell anyone who listens that it was one of the best times of his life. Jon enjoyed spending time entertaining family and friends, bowling, playing cards, smoking cigars, and telling (sometimes bad) jokes. He was one of a kind. Jon and his humor will be missed tremendously! His legacy will live on with his family and friends. People were always important to Jon, not things. A celebration of life service will be held at 3 PM on Thursday, June 11 at Garden of Memories 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610. The family will accept friends and visitors one hour prior to the service.
