Years ago when I was living in Tampa, I threw a Halloween pumpkin decorating and game party for my friends kids!  One of the challenges was bobbing for apples where a prize was given to the one getting the most apples!  John was of course adorable and clever as he decided to wear his swim goggles so his eyes wouldn’t hurt while bobbing for all these apples!  Super clever and of course then all the kids followed his lead!  He was so much fun to be around and was quite the competitive kid!  

John will be sorely missed from this world and I know he’s doing amazing work up in heaven!  Thank you John for allowing us to enjoy our times with you as we were the blessed ones!  Love, Jeanine 

John had already come up with the idea of wearing goggles for this challenge and all the kids followed his lead!  He was quite the fish when it came to being in the pool as well as being quite the competitive kid with our yard games too! John Michael was my nephew’s 1st little friend and later grew to become a great friend to so many more.  In such a short time here on earth, John touched so many lives.  Sweet John, thank you for loving as you did and thank you Denise and family for loving him as you did ❤️ and always will. My heart is breaking  for you.  I am so sorry for your loss. You and John have been in my thoughts and prayers these past few weeks.  I cannot imagine what you are going through and I am at a loss for words.  I know God, in His goodness, has a plan, and John is in His care. What a beautiful tribute to John💕. I remember John as a sweet cub scout who was wise beyond his years. I remember you telling me about a philosophy class you were taking and he was helping you make sense of whatever you were reading. I was blown away by his insight and depth of character. What a beautiful old soul who is now in the arms of Jesus💝

At some point every July we would have ice cream 🍨 for breakfast!! It was a fun tradition that we both enjoyed. I love you on purpose John Michael 💔😓💔 mom

I went to school with John at MHR and knew him through boy scouts and church. He was always so energetic and fun to be around, he touched the lives of so many people. He always knew how to start up a conversation about everything and anything. I will always remember the camping trips we went on and the adventures we had! I really wanted to get in touch with him again some day and hang out. He will be missed.

Our hearts were broken when we heard of John’s death!  We will be praying for all of you.  We are grateful that you know John is at peace and in the arms of Jesus.  May our Lord comfort you and give you His Peace.  With all our Love,  Gerry and Delores🙏❣️

John and I went to school together back in K-8 and we weren’t super close but he was always so kind and always knew how to make people laugh. Even after we all graduated and all went our separate ways he still reached out to me when he could. My family and I will forever miss him and we’re sending all our love and prayers!!

My favorite memory of John was about 11 years ago at St. Paul’s. Denise and I were chatting after Mass one Sunday, and John decided to jump in and help the ushers!! He passed out bulletins, held the door for everyone, and wished them well as they went on their way! He worked the room like a pro, and I’ll never ever forget the look on Denise’s face as she gushed with pride and love saying, “Do you see him, he just does things like that!!” John you were loved more than words can say and will be missed terribly by all who knew you.  May Our Lady of Sorrows comfort and console our dear Denise, as only she can! Rest in peace dear John!!

I never met John Michael but I do remember while working with Denise every time she spoke of him, her face would just glow with her beautiful smile. Try not to think of it as losing a loved one, think of it as gaining a guardian angel. My thoughts & prayers are with you all…


John was like a younger brother to me..
He helped me overcome a personal addiction, him and his mother blessed me with a place to sleep and get back on my feet, and he was always a great person to talk to and be around. I only knew him for about three years but within those three years I feel like him and I became really close and shared an unbreakable friendship.

One of the earliest memories I have of John Michael was learning about his love of Legos. He was 8 years old with a master's collection. He loved to build, create, and recreate with his brilliant and creative mind. His curiosity of the world was always so alive inside him. So very talented, intelligent, handsome, and loved was he. I miss him and forever will love him like a nephew. He has departed far too soon. May we all find comfort in our warmest memories of our beloved JMB.

There aren’t any words or anything else to ease the pain and suffering.  But, find comfort in knowing John Michael is safely home now with those who have gone before. No more tears, suffering, pain, sorrow, only love and peace. May God blanket you with the comfort He has promised. “God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted” MATHEW 5:4. Know you all are loved and have an army of believers praying for you, praying without ceasing. 

I will always remember you John and the memories of you playing Marco Polo with Christopher in your Nana's pool. You danced like a professional dancer. I miss your smile and will always remember how serious you would be on certain topics of discussion. Rest in peace John until we meet again. May your soul be blessed in Glory.
