Janice Howze Franklin, 72, of Tampa, unexpectedly passed away December 10, 2024 following a short illness. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Janice lived her life joyfully caring for others, doing anything she could to make their lives a bit easier. She was the glue that held her family together and they were her greatest love. They are heartbroken by this profound loss. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, David A. Franklin; her daughters Kelly Runey Buntyn of Tampa and Katie Runey Mawn (Tommy) of Odessa; her grandchildren Trey, Emily, Ashley, and Anna; her brothers Richard Howze (Marti) of Warner Robins, GA and Stephen Howze (Carol) of Odessa; and her nieces Kristen Howze King of Warner Robins, GA, Kerrie Howze of Atlanta, GA, Jennifer Thomas (Greg) of Odessa, and Melanie Scionti (Rich) of Odessa. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 2:30 PM, with a celebration of life starting at 3:00 PM, on December 27th at Blount & Curry Life Event Center, 605 S. MacDill Avenue, Tampa, FL 33609. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Moffitt Cancer Center or Tampa General Hospital Foundation.
