Jim Bishop of Tampa, Florida passed away on Thursday January 8, 2015. He was born in Columbus, GA. to Jesse Bishop and Stella Levan Bishop. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his children Beverly (Gary) and Jeffrey and four grandchildren Ryan, Kevin, Lisa, and Alex as well as his brothers Gary and Kirby (Ann) Bishop. He was a graduate of the University of South Florida where he earned a Master’s degree in Engineering. He went on to acquire his Professional Engineer license and worked in various industries in the Tampa Bay area (Power Generation, Phosphate, and Food Processing). In addition to his professional accomplishments, he was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and O.E.S. He served as the Master of Port Tampa Lodge #153 F & A.M. as well as being a member of the Palma Ceia Chapter of the O.E.S #243. A memorial service is to be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, which is located at 605 South MacDill Avenue in Tampa, on Saturday January 17, 2015. Visitation with the family will be from 1-2 PM and a Masonic service will begin at 2PM.
