Bailey, Jim “The Colonel”,90, joined his wife Mona in Heaven on Thursday, August 15, 2024. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, raising orchids, and most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was an avid Bucs and Gator fan and enjoyed watching the games. Jim retired after many years as a general manager in the automotive business where he was fondly referred to as The Colonel. He had a love of animals always handing out treats and feeding the outside feral cats. Jim touched many people's lives and will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mona Bailey; daughter, Mary Beth Hirsch and his great-grandson, Joshua McLean and his four-legged companion, Max.
He survived by his children, Greg Bailey (Rebecca), Paula San Agustin(Pat); grandchildren, Laura Davison (Michael), James Hannaford(April), Michael Hannaford (Erika) Nicole Rapp (Mike), Ashleigh Tenhagen (Dan), Tathea Hirsch, Micah Hirsch (Jessica), Kristen Hirsch, Amber Hirsch, Brian Allen (Miranda); several great-grandchildren, and two great, great-grandchildren Paisley and Brantley.
A visitation for James will be held Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Blount & Curry FH-Carrollwood, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618. A funeral service will occur Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618. A graveside service will occur on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunset Memory Gardens, 11005 US-301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592.
Jim had a deep love for animals. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Fix -Feed - Feline - Feral Inc.
