I am so sorry to just now have learned of Jack's passing...   Don't know why he happened to come to mind today (04-02-2022)...  But one of the best stories I have, and tell often to this day, is the time when I was working with Jack some 30 years ago when he was with Grubb and Ellis and I was with National Life of Vermont...  about the time late one night when we snuck in to his offices to help a couple of BASE jumpers repack thier chutes and then we managed to get them up and out on to the roof at around 2am...   past security, no alarms, resecuring the roof hatch, and then watched them jump from down on the street...   there is a whole lot more to this story that I am still denying if anyone in authority asks!
Great guy.  Smart guy.  Life loving guy.  Sincerest condolences to his family.

Dear Jack. He was my mentor, my friend, and brother in Christ. I am very sad to lose his presence, his guidance and practical advice, and endless kindness. 

He devoted countless hours, energy and heart to us at Real Estate Lives. And we, I am all the better for him. By being Jack, he showed me how to be a better Carlene. Like he always said, just doing what I'm supposed to do.

Meeting his family at his celebration of life was a treat and final gift from Jack.

Jack was a mentor to me while I was involved with REL - as so many have mentioned, a wonderful person that really cared for the people he interacted with. I'm sorry to hear of his passing, but know that he's at peace with his Lord.

Jack was a sincere and honorable man with deep roots into his military service. I recall a time when my father, a WWII Army Air Corp ex-pow, was in the hospital that Jack went to visit him and later told me and my husband, Bill, that he had visited him and enjoyed chatting with him.
I pray this dear man is rejoicing in heaven with those friends and loved ones that went before him! Rest In Peace, Jack.

Jack helped me so much in the transition master class . Jack interviewed me week in and week out and helped me be a better person and even better job candidate. I did not know him long but something kept drawing me back to his big personality.  At a time in your life when you are changing seasons God puts certain people in your life to help you cope with the change . Jack was that person God put in my life. Jack please look down on us and continue to guide us from heaven.  I will miss your smile and saying "you got this" after every session. Godspeed ! 

What a great guy personally and professionally.  A loss for the business community, and a greater loss for friends and family.   The world’s a better place because Jack was a part of it!

Jack, will always be thankful to have crossed paths in life's journey. You were simply one of the GREAT ones.

I was one of many who was so fortunate to have worked with Jack at CBRE early in his career.  He inspired us to be our best and work with integrity with a focus on what was best for our clients.  He led by example and with a positive attitude encouraged others.  He loved his family and friends and unselfishly volunteered to help others.  Please accept our condolences, and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

My memory of Jack was a committed compassionate soul who always was anxious to assist those in need.  Most recently, he was helping our team expand the jobseeker program of the "In Between Jobs" support group in Carrollwood.
He had a gift for connecting with people and a sensitivity to where they were that is uncommon today.  His example and inspiration and gift to the community will not be forgotten.  


Jack and I lead a career job search group called Transition Masters for the past three years. Jack was always available to help and coach others. He was humble and kind. He was just starting the Transition Masters program at a nonprofit org called Autism Shifts. I will honor him by continuing his work there. Would do anything for him and I know he would for me. Never a better friend. He deserves front row seats in heaven and a golf course with no hazards. Love you man!

I attended Franklin Senior High with Jack.  Pretty much lost track of him after I married, and he moved away.  Jack was an amazing friend, and co-ed.  Prayers for family and friends.  M ay he rest in peace.


RIP Jack.  In the short time I got to know you through our golf group, I hope you realize what an impact you truly had on my life.  God bless you, Jack.    Dave L.

I'll always remember the first time I met Jack many years ago at a "Pitch Session" where brokers get together and pitch their listings.  He was so engaging and had a word of advice for everyone in the room on how to maximize exposure for their listings.  He was the sweetest man I think I've ever met (beside my hubby) and I will miss seeing him at our Real Estate Lives meetings.  Rest easy my friend.  

Jack was a great guy with a heart of gold.  Over the past I knew Jack as someone actively engaged in helping job seekers with their job search.  He gave countless hours to his job seeker coaching service.  I will miss his spirit, grace, and dedication.  God rest his soul.

I started my commercial real estate career in 1992 and one of my first bosses (Jeff Schwartz - another legend lost too soon) told me there were two people that I needed to meet and follow.  He said If I became 1/2 of the broker or 1/2 of the person they were I would be a great success in the industry.  Jack Brubaker was one of those two people and what a gift it was to meet him and further to have him personally mentor me.  He took time out of his busy career to drive the market with me, to explain the most basic commercial real estate terms, to recommend books and other people to talk to.  He taught me  that the most important lesson for my future was to do the same and give back to future leaders.  He never had to say that but his actions with me and others reminded me to make that part of my career and to this day I make it a point not only to mentor others new to the industry but to promote others whenever I can.  He was an amazing person, friend and most certainly one of my biggest mentors and later would say he was my biggest fan!  Summer, you were born (I believe) the same year my daughter, Christie, was born...so we shared that in common and he adored his family first.  I believe we took you both with a bunch of others in our business to the Renaissance Festival a few times.  

It is too soon to lose him and too precious to let go so I wont and I will continue to honor him with my actions.  My condolences and love to your family.  

Jack was a fierce friend.  He always had positive words and helpful hints to help me through tough times. He embodied graciousness and compassion.  I looked up to this great man.  I have so many memories of things we did together but I just can’t pick any one that stands out more than the others.  Every time I saw him, he made feel at home.  I will miss my friend. 

Jack was a very close family friend, and played golf on a weekly basis with my step father Ed. Jack was always quick with a joke, as well as providing sound logic to most anything. I played golf with him and Ed on occasion when I was in town from California, always a good time. 

One thing I will take away from my relationship with Jack, or simply Jack himself, is that I felt he was a very caring man, you could hear it in his voice when asking advice or just chopping it up. You knew you were talking someone genuine when having a conversation with Jack, it was real. 

I'll miss you big guy. Thanks for being a friend.
