RITCH, Honor “Bird” Riley Silvera, passed away 16 May 2016 at the age of 94. She was born 19 March 1922 at Ramble, Jamaica BWI and was a long-time resident of Tampa, FL and Durango, CO. Honor will long be remembered as a dedicated mother, devout Catholic, creative milliner, avid seamstress and fervent gardener. She was stationed in Washington, DC during the height of WWII with the British Overseas Territory section, where she was a member of the mapping team for “D” Day. Honor was preceded in death by her father, Vincent Silvera; mother, Norah Riley Sparks Silvera; sister, Leonora (Lee) Silvera Edwards and husband, Captain William T. Ritch. She is survived by her sons; Leigh Ritch, John (Angela) Ritch, William B. (Kathleen) Ritch, and daughter, Honor L. Ritch; grandchildren, Therese (David) Feeman, Tabetha Ritch, Jared Ritch, Ian Ritch and Shelby Ritch; great-granddaughters, Abigail, Alexa and Annaliese; nephews, Neville Edwards and Angus Edwards. Special consideration to be given to her family in Scotland and the UK, Mrs. Brian Stewart, Theona, Rory Stewart and Nancy Rowland, all of whom she had a special love for. The family will be privately offering for the repose of her soul. As a devoted Catholic, she would wish to be remembered in your prayers or a mass in her memory.
