Bill and I were good friends we and spent a lot of time getting in "trouble" together (I could write a book).  Bill was an honest man, an open book to his feelings and being his friend was a true privilege.  All I can say is the world was better with Bill in it and I will miss him very much. 

I have to thank Billy for always bringing an energy and  humor when we all gathered bringing us to tears at times. He befriended everyone and had an old soul a sense of innocence and we were all so grateful for the love of his life Claudia. Thank you Claudia for watching over our buddy and when Iam feeling down I know I can always go back to those halcyon days. Love you Billy.  “Hicks”

Claudia, I am so sorry for your loss. Although I did not get to see him very often, it was always so nice to share that time with you and Bill. Whether it was some sunny place in Florida or Hawaii, or at our home in cold snowy Wisconsin, the best part of my memories are the shared experiences we had as a family. I know Bill had so many friends all with great memories of their own, but I have one that only I can have. Bill, we each had the shared  fortune and blessing of marrying into the Robold family, having met the light of your life, Claudia, and myself Melissa, the girl of my heart. Thank you Bill for being a part of our daughters life as well, that has meant a lot to me. Claudia, we are here for you anytime.  With love, Jeff.

Bill was one of my closest friends.  I loved him like a brother.  The adventures we had together were unbelievable.  I could tell stories for hours.  Even though we did not see each other as much as we would have liked, when we talked it was like we never missed a beat.  When we were juniors in high school,  my dad was involved in a real estate development in Coco Beach Florida.  He arranged for Bill, Giffey and myself to spend a week on the ocean during our spring break.  Bill told me on that trip that he was going to spend the rest of his life in Florida and he did.  He loved Florida.  Bill loved to call me in the winter and ask me what the temperature was in Wisconsin.   Bill married the love of his life, Claudia in 1995.  I was fortunate enough to be part of that.  They had been together since 1979 and moved to Florida in 1982.  Bill often told me how much he  loved Claudia and how happy he was.      Claudia I am so sorry for your loss.  You  are in my thoughts and prayers.  I love you.  I still cant believe that Bill is gone and that he is not going to hit me any more.   I miss you my friend.  

Bill you were truly one of a kind. The indelible memories of high school were heavily influenced by the days and nights spent in your Clovernook basement. I never understood what gammy was ever going to do while lording over the ground floor. There was the occasional shout down the steps to turn the music down.  Apparently, Gammy was not a big Deep Purple fan and we know you were. It's the first time I saw green shag carpet and your explanation as to why it was there made perfect sense.  In later years, we ventured upstairs and outside for the pick up basketball game. You always had the advantage of going upstairs to change into your cut -off jean shorts which allowed you unprecedented movement on the court.  There was the time when we lost power and it was cold out. You being the hunter/gatherer you are, were able to obtain firewood to keep us all comfortable, right there in the neighborhood. I remember how thrilled you were to get married to Claudia. You were excited to show us Florida from the boat. That was quite the night. One of my fondest memories was probably our senior year of high school. We were no longer banished to the basement but actually hung out on the main floor like grown ups. One night who shows up to join us but my mother and Joan Judge. They wanted to see what the attraction was to Bill Trainor's house. Well buddy, it was Bill Trainor. You couldn't have been more gracious of a host to them. Made them feel right at home. That was your strength Bill. No matter who you encountered in life from Netanyahu to my mother, you were the same. You knew who you were and you treated people with respect. There aren't many people who can say that. Rest in peace my friend.

I have known Bill since he arrived at St Leo and joined the brothers of Phi Delta Omega. He Always greeted me by grabbing my arm and hitting my shoulder, he always had a new idea or story to tell or one of his worldwide adventures. God speed on your flight home, may you find our other brothers on this road trip.

Bill and I arrived solo from Cumberland grade school, hung close and tried to fit in with the Catholic educated.  On one of the first days we’re being introduced to Gabbo Gahn. Bill announces that her name is too hard to say and from here on her name will be “Angel.” 
I thought my high school experience was over before it even began. 

I have know Bill for over 45 years. We first met at St Leo College in the mid 70's. We are Fraternity Brothers. To say anything about Bill if you wrote for reader's digest he would definitely be one of life's most unforgettable people. He will be greatly missed. BB you are now upstairs in the hands of all the Brothers who went before you. You are in good company.

Condolences to the entire Trainor family.  Billy was my high school sweetheart.  My heart is broken.
