George was happily married to Ursula Petroff in 1964 and remained so until his passing!
George graduated from High School and entered the Army Air Corp. at the end of World War II. He served through the Korean War, where he was injured in combat, and two tours in Vietnam before Honorably retiring in 1968! He then worked for the New Jersey Board of Education before retiring from there and settling in Florida with his beloved wife, Ursula. They were always together! George and Ursula enjoyed riding motorcycles as much as they could. They enjoyed getting out daily and visiting Disney World or Universal Studios, where they loved meeting new people and the employees! They both always brought smiles and laughter wherever they went! Their impressions will last forever amongst those who were fortunate to have met them! George was someone who would give of himself always and never wanting anything in return; his family always came first! He loved playing basketball with the neighborhood kids, fixing bicycles, or working on cars! He always attended school trips and sporting events that his children participated in, no matter how busy things were! There are not enough words or enough empty volumes to be written to describe how truly great a man, husband, and father he was! He has laid footsteps that I, his son, and my brothers have always tried to follow out of the sheer respect and adulation for him and the myriad examples of how a man should strive to be in this physical life! He is now with the Lord and his family, waiting for the time when we may reunite with him…until then, we will miss you! We love you!
He is survived by his wife, Ursula Petroff; his son George W. Petroff Jr.; his son William V. Petroff; and his son Richard A. Petroff. George also leaves behind his grandsons and granddaughters to forever cherish his memory.
